On The Road Again

Benson, AZ

Colton, CA

(Oct 4, 2007)

Our next stop was in Benson, AZ. We planned to get some work done on the RV here and spend a week here in the beautiful desert just east of Tucson, AZ.

We met a couple in Benson who purchased their lot with this adobe structure. It is unique. Each lot is owned by an RV owner. The park is a non-profit organization and the lots can not be sold for a profit. So, the price of a lot many years ago is the same now. A seller can charge for the upgrades made to the property. This lot sold for the highest price in the park for $34,000. There is a waiting list of about 4 years.

After a conversation with the repair shop that I planned to do some work, we chose to go on to California and get the work done there.

The "old gal" needed much more than we figured, but was worth it. She handles much better now.

The first of 2007, we stopped at the Golden Village Palms RV Resort in Hemet, CA and liked it. So, when I was looking for a "winter hideaway" Hemet came to mind. We wanted to be in California for this winter and it fit our requirements. We plan to stay here until sometime around February or March.

We did take the opportunity to visit my brother, Jim, in Dan Diego, CA for dinner.
